Seals are a vital element of many types of machinery as they act to block or separate fluid existing within specific applications.
Seals form part of a collection of rings which form a construction and are commonly a soft, non-metallic ring made from a number of different materials, including polyurethane, rubber, and Polytetrafluoroethylene (also known as PTFE). The type of material used for seals is usually dependent on the conditions at which the seal is operating; some machinery may encompass limitations such as temperature, pressure, and chemical compatibility.
Typical seals include Piston seals, Rod seals, Radial seals, Wipers, V-rings, O-rings, X-rings, Backup rings, Profile rings, Bolt seals and etc.
